Additional Attendance Information

It is the student's responsibility to arrive at class on time. "On time" means being seated before the second bell rings. Students may not "check-in" to class and then wander the campus or visit another classroom. All students are expected to comply with attendance policies to ensure academic success and fulfillment of graduation requirements.

Each teacher will receive a laminated hall pass labeled with their name and room number. Only one student at a time may use the hall pass.

Important information and the purpose of each lesson are presented at the start of class, so we want to protect your time for learning. Restroom passes will not be issued during the first 15 minutes or the last 10 minutes of class. During these times, restrooms will be cleared and locked to prevent students from “hiding out” and to encourage timely attendance.

Review our policy on make-up work for students with excused and unexcused absences. Students will have the opportunity to complete missed assignments and tests to ensure academic progress.

Effective January 1, 2020, AB 982 requires a teacher in district and charter schools, upon the request of a student who has been suspended from school for two or more school days, a parent, legal guardian, or other person holding the right to make educational decisions for the student, to provide the student with the homework they would otherwise have been assigned.

Review requirements for academic performance and attendance, as well as information regarding eligibility for extracurricular activities, including field trips, sports, and events.
